Can an Ipod Touch get internet from a wireless router? - wireless cable for ipod

My friend was connected to an iPod Touch for Christmas and wondered if a wireless router to your cable modem, to be in a position that would be obtained on the Internet about them. I'm not sure I know everything that can detect a wireless signal can use the Internet from a wireless router, but do not know much about iPods. Please reply if you know and have a Merry Christmas!

Here are the steps to access the Internet are
